Why Do You Need to Remove Cat Hair From Clothes?

There are many reasons why you don’t want to be covered with cat hair. Maybe you’re going to spend time with people who are allergic to cats. Maybe you have an important work meeting or go to a grand event. Or maybe you just don’t like being covered with cat hair.

Clothes covered with cat hair can even put important electrical appliances at risk: when mixed with water, cat hair can form large masses, block the drain holes and pumps of the washing machine, and strain your plumbing system.

How to Get Cat Hair Off Clothes in the Washing Machine?

To keep the washing machine running smoothly, it is best to remove any visible cat hair from the clothes before the washing machine runs. Try any of the above methods, or dry the clothes with dry paper for 10 minutes before washing without heating to remove static electricity. (after that, be sure to empty the lint collector.)

When you wash clothes, try adding white vinegar as a natural fabric softener to help loosen cat hair from clothes in the washing machine. Bleach can also help dissolve cat hair during cleaning.

When drying, put in an anti-static drying sheet or drying ball to help break the static attachment and loosen any remaining pet hair.

Step 1: gently wet your hands or tissue.

Step 2: wipe the cat hair on the clothes with wet hands or paper towels to help the hair form a large mass.

Step 3: remove a large mass of cat hair from your clothes by hand, and then throw it away.

A wet dryer or wet rubber gloves are also good for use. Anti-static spray can also help prevent fur from adhering to clothes

For dry cleaning cloth or lighter hair, use a fluff roller or internal and external masking tape to peel cat hair from the clothes.

Depending on the cat, the easiest thing to do may be to comb the hair more often so that the hair doesn’t fall off so much.

Put a small lint roller in your wallet or car, or even prepare a few sheets of dry paper to quickly wipe cat hair. Even if you go home empty-handed, don’t forget that you can work empty-handed. Wet it with a little water, and then rub it on the cat’s hair to break the electrostatic attachment and form hair clusters that are easy to remove.

Products For Cat Hair Removal

Although you don’t have to remove cat hair products from your clothes, they do make life easier. Here are some products to consider to help eliminate fuzz.

Anti-static spray

Products such as static guards can help release pet hair stuck by static electricity from clothes, and even prevent them from sticking to clothes from the beginning.

Thread end roller

It is suitable for rapid and small-scale hair removal – especially on the road – but in general, it is not the most effective and environmentally-friendly choice.

Rubber gloves

Basic rubber tableware gloves can easily remove pet hair from clothes if you wet them first.

Dryer sheet

Any piece of dry clothes paper can suck pet hair in the dryer, or wipe it off the clothes when it is wet. Ike said that as long as the packaging box clearly indicates that these sheets are anti-static, although most of them are anti-static.

Dryer ball

A basic set of wool dryer balls will bounce around on your machine, collect the fallen cat hair, and then directly enter the lint collector.

How to Reduce Pet Fur in Your Home?

  • Often vacuum your home and upholstered furniture. Most of the pet hair on your clothes comes from the furniture.

Clean pet bedding regularly. After washing, run an additional washing cycle to ensure that your washing machine is free of pet hair. Check the washing machine after washing the bedding. If you see pet hair in the bucket, run a cleaning program to wash it away so that it won’t stick to the next pile of clothes.

  • If you use a dryer to dry pet bedding, please clean the lint filter during the drying process so that more hair can be collected after the bedding is dry. If you don’t clean the clogged filter, your pet’s hair will re-deposit on your clothes.

For washable clothes or bedding covered with pet hair, run them through an air drying / no heat cycle before washing them. The tumble action of the dryer will loosen most of the hair, which will be sucked into the fluff collector of the dryer. After taking this step, the lint collector must be cleaned immediately to prevent odor and increase airflow.

  • When washing clothes containing a lot of pet hair, add half a cup of distilled white vinegar. Vinegar helps fabric fibers relax and “release” hair.
  • When washing clothes, don’t let the washing machine get crowded. Clothes need room to move freely in the water so that the hair can be loosened and washed away along with the sewer.
  • Throwing clothes into the dryer, even for a short time, is more helpful for hair removal than air-drying clothes.
  • Using liquid fabric softeners in the final rinse or dryer sheets in the dryer, such sheets can cover the fabric of clothes, reduce static electricity, and help prevent pet hair adhesion.

Summary

There are many effective ways to help pets remove hair from their clothes without spending a lot of money on cleaning products. Having furry companions can help you have a healthy lifestyle.

But caring about your favorite capsule wardrobe essentials can help you always have lasting clothes. Don’t let your closet be full of pet hair. Instead, use these gifted methods to remove hair from pet clothing.
