What is the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Carpet Cleaner?

A serious carpet cleaner with heated cleaning, an 800W motor, and a rotating brush bar with 12 rows of bristles is the Bissell Proheat 2x Revolution. It comes with helpful tools, a long hose, two distinct cleaning modes, and a choice of three fragrant solutions for fresh, tough, and old stains.

It’s incredibly easy to fill and empty the clean and dirty water containers, and assembling the Bissell was simple. Our only complaint was the loud operation that made a high-pitched screech, but since our carpets and rugs have never looked better, this is a great all-arounder at under £230.00.

Pros & Cons of Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet

Pros:

  • Cleans quickly
  • More powerful than other carpet cleaners
  • Effective at removing odors and stains

Cons:

  • Loud
  • Upright design doesn’t fit everywhere

Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Carpet Cleaner – Design and Features

Sharp reds, black, and grey colors combine to create the appearance of the Bissell, which is reminiscent of a Transformer’s body. It was simple to put together despite its intricate appearance, and the manual that came with it is accurate and thorough.

The floorhead is substantial and has 12 cleaning rows of DirtLifter PowerBrushes that work to deliver deep cleaning into the carpet pile. The trigger on the handle, which is simple to depress, is used to spray heated cleaning solution onto the surface. The brush bars agitate the liquid into the pile, and it is then vacuumed up from the front edge of the head along with the dust from the carpet. Through the transparent plastic shell, you can see the muck being drawn up. ProHeat heating enhances cleaning effectiveness and carpet drying times by using residual heat from the motor to keep the cleaning solution warm.

Deep Clean and Express Clean are the two cleaning modes available on the ProHeat 2X Revolution. By pressing the red button on the machine’s left side, you can choose from these. For tougher areas, Bissell advises using the Deep Clean Mode for the best cleaning results; the carpet will likely require about four hours to dry completely. The Express Clean Mode uses less liquid for a lighter clean and rejuvenation of carpets and takes about an hour to dry.

A clean water tank is present, and it can hold 3.7 liters of the cleaning fluid mixture made up of water and one of Bissell’s supplied solutions. With the aid of a helpful black jug that measures the solution at 74ml per tank of water for Deep Clean Mode and 37ml for Express Clean Mode, the tank is easily removed and can be filled up under the sink.

A 4.5-liter dirty water tank with an easy removal valve is slid into a low spot beneath the clean tank. When the dirty water container is full, a marking on the side lets you know it’s time to empty it. With a 7-meter power cord that can be coiled around the back of the device for storage, there is plenty of reach and freedom for larger rooms.

It can be difficult to clean the machine thoroughly. The main brush bars can only be reached after removing four Philips screws from the side cover and dropping the small washers on the ends of the rollers. The top vacuum cover detaches from the floorhead. Reassembling was just as difficult. Positively, Bissell provides a flexible nozzle cleaning tool that aids in clearing fluff from the constrained vacuum channels.

The floorhead’s top port can accommodate the hose’s over 2m length and extreme flexibility. Everything fits together perfectly, and the cleaner won’t tip over when the hose and tools are used because of the low fitting. The clean fluid jet on the attached tools is controlled by a big, rounded trigger on the hose handle. The tools continue to move forward and clip into pace tightly.

The main cleaning tool is Bissell’s Tough Stain Tool, which has a single spray nozzle, three rows of nicely stiff bristles, and a clean plastic vacuum nozzle at the front. Simple application of the cleaning agent, brush agitation, and slow vacuuming of the contaminated water.

On a carpet cleaner, the dual-purpose crevice tool and brush seem a little strange. Even though it has a spray nozzle, it is more of a standard vacuum cleaner tool. The idea is that it can be used for small spot cleaning or to reach places that are too awkward for the main brush, like corners and areas that are extremely close to skirting boards.

Three sample-sized bottles of various concentrated formulas with pleasant aromas are included with the Bissell. The Scotchguard Wash & Protect formula is made to remove tough stains and guard the carpet from future spills, while the Febreze Wash & Refresh fluid is a great choice for a potent and fragrant clean. The Oxygen Boost is a supplement formula that increases the stain-removing ability of any solution to which it is added.

The mesh bag that is provided can be used to store the hose, tools, jug, sample bottles, and the creative nozzle cleaning tool.

Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution Carpet Cleaner – How Does It Clean?

The PreHeat 2x Revolution makes noise when it is operating, which you and your neighbors will notice right away. A high-pitched shriek could be heard among the 86–87dB of appropriate loudness, which is roughly equivalent to being near a busy London street. This whistling noise was as unpleasant as a high-speed dentist drill, though we are unsure of what was making it. After some time, our ears did get used to the noise, and carpet cleaners are never that quiet, but it’s best to wait to use the Bissell to shampoo carpets until the neighbors have left.

The deep red rug in our living room, a favorite place for the dogs to relax in the evening, posed a significant obstacle for the Bissell. With a 74ml jug full of the fragrant Febreze solution in a tank of warm water, we used the Deep Cleaning Mode to thoroughly clean the appliance. We sprayed the area with the cleaning solution twice in slow motion, then vacuumed the liquid up twice in slow motion, following Bissell’s instructions. Considering the Bissell’s weight, moving it around wasn’t particularly difficult thanks to its large wheels and wasn’t particularly taxing on the arm.

We couldn’t believe the difference after a few strokes. The ProHeat 2x Revolution carpet was collecting a lot of the contaminated water because its tank appeared to be filling up fairly quickly. This is unusual because most shampooers only pick up about half of the liquid they deposit, whereas the Bissell shampooed our short pile rug to a level of about 75% to 80%. This is great news because it means the carpet will get a thorough cleaning and dry off more quickly.

When using the Deep Clean mode and spraying in accordance with the manual’s instructions, the Bissell did lay down a significant amount of liquid. Cleaning a single large 1.8 x 2.3 m rug allowed us to completely empty a tank of cleaning solution. It’s very efficient, but when Bissell says “Deep Clean,” they really mean “deep clean,” and the Express clean offers a lot more solution per square meter. Furthermore, even if you do want a deep clean, we contend that a single spraying motion is sufficient for the majority of carpets.

You can’t argue with the results, though, as our rather lifeless and dog-eared rug looked brand new! The wastewater tank was equally shockingly filthy and disgusting. The Febreze solution also made the room smell incredibly fresh.

As we moved on to the difficult red wine spill test on a cream carpet, the Bissell once more impressed us and after a few passes over the stain, it was completely gone. We also used the milder Febreze detergent, and based on our prior use of Bissell products, we are aware that adding the Oxygen Boost fluid would have sped up the cleaning process.

In order to conduct a thorough review, we poured another fine glass of Rioja and used the hose and Extra Tough Stain tool to remove a comparable stain. Regardless of the Deep/Express setting, it sprays cleaning fluid at a significant rate, so be careful around surfaces you don’t want to completely saturate.

The outcomes were again very good. The stain was removed and the carpet was remarkably dry after some agitating and repainting, which took a little while. This Bissell has some of the best suction and dirt-water pick-up of any we have used, which helps to explain the loud motor.

We even tried the Extra Tough Stain tool on an old leather couch that was starting to look dated. The Oxy additive would have again sped up cleaning with the Febreze fluid, but it didn’t take many passes to start revealing a much lighter colored sofa.

Should You Buy the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro

Yes, we believe that anyone who owns an elderly animal or several dogs will value the existence of a carpet cleaner that can remove stains and win over embedded hair. Overall, our testing revealed the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet to be reliable and user-friendly. But because it is so loud, you might want to take your sensitive dog for a walk while you mop the floors if you have one.
