Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max Review 2022

A high-tech vacuum that can mop and vacuum simultaneously is the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max. Review of the Bissell CrossWave Max is what I’ll be doing right here.

Cleaning bare floors is a breeze with the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max. On this surface type, it removes pet hair and small and bulky debris without difficulty, with no discernible loss in suction performance as its dustbin fills. Dirt and debris that has dried on are easily removed by its mopping function. Even though it generally feels to be well-built, there are a number of parts that need to be maintained or replaced on a regular basis, which means that over time, recurring costs may mount.

Pros & Cons of BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max

Pros

  • In your hands, it appears light.
  • removes most pet hair from floors.

Cons

  • Numerous components require regular cleaning.
  • moderately high recurring expenses.
  • Weak suction force.
  • Brushrolls can be stopped by dense carpeting.

How It Works

The CrossWave’s 828ml clean water reservoir has two sets of measurement markings: one for quick emergency whizzes and the other for a thorough household clean. Fill the top container with water up to the desired fresh water line, then add the provided Bissell cleaning solution up to the second line, or about one centimeter above it (Bissell provides a litre of the stuff, which should last for ages). If, like me, you have treated wooden floors, select the “wood floor” function, pull back the handle to engage the cleaning head, press the light trigger, and move forward slowly as the wet roller does its scrubbing thing.

After letting go of the trigger, slowly pull back to syphon the mess into the 550ml dirty water tank. Go all out and choose the appropriate setting that releases more water with each trigger pull if you have tile, polished concrete, or linoleum. All you have to do is that; nothing else. No grabbing a mop and bucket, no applying generous amounts of elbow grease to loosen sticky substances. simply pushing and pulling. Once you’re done, clip the device into the awkward cleaning base interface, tap the clean button, and marvel as the roller brush changes from a dark brown shade of filth to a lighter shade of clean.

The dirty water container will occasionally need to be removed and washed under a sink, especially if the catch filter is blocked with hair or other unsightly muck. With any kind of floor cleaner, however, this is to be expected.

In terms of battery life, a full charge should provide up to 30 minutes of use. And that’s more than enough time to complete any task bar, possibly a full four-room mopping session.

Design and Features

Considering how its side profile is wavy, the CrossWave Max most likely gets its name from this feature. Anyhow, for a mop, it’s a strangely alluring thing. The CrossWave is a fully cordless mopping system that uses water, cleaning solution, and a quick-rotating woolly roller to clean hard floors of all styles, including treated wood, like the similarly designed Tineco Floor One S3 and Roborock Dyad. Additionally, it has a strong vacuum motor that can scoop up any liquid mess that gets in the way of its nine-inch mouth, including porridge spills, cereal spills, and foul substances like vomit, dog poop, and possibly other types of liquified excremental matter that I wasn’t interested in testing.

If you can grasp the idea of pulling the trigger while pushing and releasing it when pulling, you can easily master the CrossWave Max. Because the trigger must be pulled in order for the machine to dispense water to the roller, this is the case. The theory behind it is that when the trigger is released, the vacuum system activates to suck up all extra liquid, leaving the floor dryer than most of its rivals.

The CrossWave Max has a very respectable weight of 5.22kg and includes a filter as well as extra-large 828ml clean water and 550ml dirty water tanks. As a result, you can clean for a lot longer than other people without having to empty or refill the clean water tank. Top marks there.

The roller itself is made of a soft wooly material and measures nine inches (about 23 cm) in width. It has several long bristles that are used to scrub obstreperous substances off the floor. Furthermore, the roller brush can clean spills all the way to the edge of the surface because it spans almost the entire width of the cleaning head.

In addition to an on/off switch, the CrossWave Max has a floor selector that turns on two water intensities for treated wood floors and non-porous materials like tile, linoleum, and polished concrete. When the device is mounted to the charger-cum-cleaning station, a separate button activates the self-cleaning mode.

Regarding the machine’s performance or design, I really have nothing bad to say. The problematic interface between the machine and the charger-cum-cleaning station, however, is the main issue I want to bring up. The unit would not connect to the power supply when I first mounted it into the cleaning station’s provided port. In fact, I had to shake the device a bit before the charging light turned on. Although you’re supposed to be able to quickly place the machine on the cleaning plinth, in practice you have to line up the rear of the device with a recessed port on the cleaning plate. This is not a very intuitive process because, a) you can’t see what you’re doing, and b) the tiny sprung lid over the charging point sometimes seems to stick. Although it is annoying, I wouldn’t say it is a deal breaker.

Is Bissell CrossWave Cordless Any Good?

the consensus is… yes. The majority of people think that their bissell crosswave vacuum is a fantastic addition to their small home appliances.

With its quick cleaning capabilities, it is categorized as a high-performance vacuum. People appreciate that it can be used as a steam mop, dry vacuum, and wet vacuum in addition to cleaning carpets.

Additionally, it effectively removes bulky dry debris and pet hair without losing suction. I also value the fact that despite its small size, it can clean both large and small areas.

How Long Does the Bissell CrossWave Cordless Battery Last?

A lithium-ion 36 V battery powers the Bissell Cordless Max multi-surface cleaner. You have approximately 30 minutes of cordless cleaning power. By doing it this way, you can clean your house without having to plug anything in.

How Effective is the Bissell CrossWave?

According to the Crosswave tests, it is very effective at removing almost all of the dry and wet debris.

It cleans a variety of hard flooring types and is effective at reviving carpets, including rubber floor mats.

Can You Just Vacuum With the Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max?

The Bissell Crosswave can certainly function solely as a vacuum. However, it can also be used as a vacuum alone. It works well to clean messes on both hard and soft surfaces.

Can I Use Just Water in Bissell CrossWave?

Yes, you can fill the clean water tank with fresh water, but using a cleaning solution will make floors easier to mop.

However, be careful because using cleaners other than Bissell’s voids the warranty.

Is the Bissell CrossWave Self-Cleaning?

The crosswave does indeed have a self-cleaning feature. It only requires a quick connection to the 3-in-1 docking station, clean water tank addition, and self-clean button press.

The device will then switch to a self-cleaning mode where it flushes out dirt, hair, and debris. Simply empty the dirty water from the tank after the self-cleaning cycle is finished, and it will be ready for use again.

Does the Bissell CrossWave Have Two Water Tanks?

A clean tank and a dirty dank are the two tanks on the Bissell Crosswave. In a separate tank from the one holding the used water, the cleaning solution is kept.

Simply fill the clean tank with water and the cleaning solution before you begin cleaning your floors, and as you go along, the dirty water tank will fill up.

Because of its two-tank design, it prevents dirty water from being dumped on the floor and from being filtered back through to the clean tank.

What Other Vacuum is Like the Bissell CrossWave?

Similar to the Bissell crosswave vacuum is another one. The Hoover Floormate is what it’s known as. The features of the two vacuums are remarkably similar.

The Bissell CrossWave and Hoover Floormate differ significantly in that the former can be used solely as a vacuum, whereas the latter cannot.

Does the CossWave Leave Dirty Streaks?

No streaks of dirt should be left behind by the Bissell CrossWave. But if it does, there may be a number of different causes.

You might not be using enough cleaning agents. To avoid leaving a sticky residue behind, however, take care not to use too much cleaning solution.

You may be utilizing too much water, too. If you make a pass over the wet spot without spraying, try letting go of the trigger afterward.

Is the Bissell Crosswave Pro Max Better Than the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro?

Which vacuum is superior to the others? Well, that depends entirely on what you’re looking for. Both should thoroughly clean up pet hair from floors.

Due to its cordless design, the Bissell crosswave pro max has many more high-end features. Although the pet pro doesn’t have a cordless option, its 12 inch roller does cover a bit more ground at once.

Therefore, the only factor that really matters is the budget. The crosswave performs essentially the same functions as the pet pro model, but it is much more expensive and has more features.

Choose the pro max if the upgrades are worthwhile and your budget allows it. If not, choose the pet pro.

Since it is only available in a plug-in model, it is ideal for pet owners who want to use it more frequently. You can avoid having to wait for the battery to charge this way. Just plug it in and start using it.

Does the Bissell CrossWave Have Wi-fi Connectivity?

Yes, the Bissell Connect app is compatible with the Crosswave Pro Max’s wifi connectivity and it functions well.

Within the app, it provides customer service, usage guidance, and maintenance tracking assistance.

To ensure that your vacuum continues to operate flawlessly, you can even set up useful alerts. There is only one setting to make in order to set up Bissell app alerts.

Any Downsides to the Bissell CrossWave Pro Max??

There aren’t many, I’ll be honest. It’s amazing how much time this little one has saved me. Never before have my floors been so clean!

However, I will admit that cleaning the edges is difficult. So it’s difficult to clean around your baseboards.

Although the website claims that this feature has been improved, the absence of attachments means that it is still not ideal for those areas.

Consequently, I would actually need to lift my vacuum, set it on my furniture, and move it back and forth in order to clean it down. Which is acceptable but not ideal and a little awkward.

For me, cordless freedom outweighs any drawbacks. In regards to corners, I should say that it works alright but not as well as a hose would.

How Long Does the Bissell CrossWave Battery Last

The 36V lithium-ion battery provides up to 30 minutes* of cordless cleaning power so you can clean your house without being tethered to an outlet. Additionally, you can quickly switch from sealed hard floors to area rugs thanks to multi-surface cleaning capabilities.

Compared to Other Vacuums

A cordless upright hybrid vacuum/mop is the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max. It has a weaker motor compared to the corded BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro, making it unable to clean dense high-pile carpeting. However, it is more maneuverable and works just as well for removing stains from bare floors or vacuuming up debris.

If you’re looking for alternatives, check out our list of the top vinyl floor vacuums, best hand vacuums, and best cordless vacuums.

BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro

Each BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro has unique benefits, so based on your needs, one may be a better fit for you than the other. Both vacuums use comparable detergent-dispersal mechanisms and effectively clean up both liquid spills and dried-on stains. In terms of size and weight, they are also fairly comparable. But despite its limited range, the corded Pet Pro can run continuously. You can use this vacuum to clean carpeted floors because it has a stronger brushroll motor than its cordless counterpart. The cordless Max, however, can be used to quickly and easily clean distant rooms. Additionally, it has a self-cleaning function that marginally reduces the need for manual maintenance.

Hoover ONEPWR Evolve Pet

Both the Hoover ONEPWR Evolve Pet and the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max 2554 have an upright configuration, but they serve different purposes. The BISSELL is a hybrid vacuum/mop that can easily handle stains and liquid spills. Compared to the Hoover, it works better on bare floors, and its fluffy brushroll is better at snatching debris from cracks and crevices. On carpeted surfaces, you can use the Hoover, a more traditional cordless upright. Additionally, it has a roughly twice as large dustbin and is lighter and charges more quickly.

Dyson Omni-glide

Both vacuums, the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max 2554 and the Dyson Omni-glide, are intended for cleaning bare floors but have different designs and intended uses. A rotating twin-brushroll head is a distinctive feature of the Dyson stick vacuum. Compared to the BISSELL, it is much lighter, quieter, and easier to maneuver. For more effective cleaning of confined spaces, you can also set it up as a handheld vacuum. As an alternative, the BISSELL is a cordless upright vacuum/mop with a detergent-dispersal feature to help scrub away dried-on stains. In addition to having a longer battery life than the Dyson and a larger dustbin, it is more effective than the Dyson at collecting debris on bare floors.

Samsung Jet 90 Complete

Although the Samsung Jet 90 Complete and BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max 2554 are two different kinds of vacuums, both have some mopping capabilities. The Samsung is a more traditional cordless stick vacuum that you can pair with an unusual floorhead called the “Spinning Sweeper” that uses rotating mop pads to scrub away stains. But unlike the BISSELL, this floorhead can only scrub at stains; it cannot clean up spilled liquids. Nevertheless, the Samsung vacuum performs routine vacuuming tasks much better. With its multi-surface floorhead, it performs significantly better on carpeted floors, is easier to maneuver, weighs significantly less, and has a longer battery life.

Conclusion

The Bissell CrossMax Cordless is the machine for you if you’re looking for a hard floor cleaner that is incredibly capable of cleaning all types of flooring, including sealed wood, with consummate ease. Its self-cleaning mode is an unbridled joy, its ability to remove grime and most watery solids is unmatched, and the extra large water tanks allow for longer stints on the floor. It is light enough to carry up stairs and push and pull around the house. Actually, the ineffective charging interface is the only flaw in it. However, not by enough of a margin to dock it a star.
